Official Xbox Magazine (US) App Reviews

I have been an OXM subscriber for over a decade and I absolutely love the magazine, its writers and editors and also the digital version of the magazine as well. 3 stars for a reason, I wish the digital version would have little nuances in it that wouldnt be accessible from the actual paper magazine. For instance Mens Health does this really well, which make digital viewing more enjoyable and immersive, like having to click a button to reveal the information it hides or graphs and charts coming to life when you turn the page. No such thing with OXM. Not a big deal. What has really stated to get me about this magazine is the undeniable bias this magazine has towards xbox. I know its an xbox magazine, dont stab me, but there job is also to inform. I have an xbox one and ps4, if I am reading a review of a game in OXM the magazine sates only that the game is for xbox and not any other platform, even if its a cross platform game. I have become increasingly bothered by this as the console wars have raged on. OXM is reluctant to actually dog anything about the new xbox and admit its flaws. It has become an increasingly prominent issue as the ears have gone on. Its as if the writers are trying to poke and prod at sony without actually doing anything wrong. Passive aggressive almost. Finally I have noticed that their reviews reflect wha they expect from the game itself. Game playing for review is no longer about going in with an open mind and empty slate, its about what they have come to expect from a genre or IP and if the new iteration improves on it or not. Thats not a review, its a comparison. After rereading my review I have decided it should get two stars, still an entertaining magazine none the less.

I am very pleased to be reacquainted with OXM. Having a digital version is so much better for me these days as opposed to printed version.

Love the magazine, and digital subscription is at an affordable price. App does have some technical issues sometime

Awesome for iPad, if you have one!! But its just as equally good on an iPhone! The only thing that could be improved is the way the Digimag is read. It may be hard to program but it would be cool if the page size and font of the text would change to the right size for readability when turned on its side or when its vertical. Hate having to pinch/zoom to read. Otherwise, awesome.

This app has helped me strategize through adventures and tell me about the upcoming games. I rated this magazine five stars also because of the apps service. If you subscribe to them you get perfect service!

Magazine is ok but doesnt make use of digital format at all. Just a copy n paste of content from the print version.

I have no complaints and it is a convent way to get the magazine, especially if you travel.

Provides all of my Xbox Mags on my small handled devices, and works across my iPhone and IPad. Cant beat it!

I use to be a sony guy but that all changed when the first xbox came out and I made the switch and never looking back! This mag is amazing because I love gaming so much Im in a gaming clan called Xiled Gaming and with this mag at my finger tips, I can get the ins and outs of the new games and whats to come to the gaming world.

Great read for gamers. Good pictures and color.

Please fix

Crashes when trying to read an issue with iOS 8.

I cant read any issues because the app crashes. Canceled my subscription. Waste of my money.

If the app doesnt work since the iOS 8 update, delete it and reinstall the app. It will work

I am very disappointed. I decided to subscribe today and was expecting my free issue that is advertised as part of their free trail. However, I did not receive my free issue and my library remained empty even after reseting my ipad and closing the app. I was then charged the full $8.99 to my account even though I am supposed to be a customer of their free trail! Even worse, when I checked my library again the issue was still not there, even though my account was already charged. I feel I have been ripped off and would give a zero-star review if I could. I have emailed their customer support and will consider writing a new review if this situation is resolved.
